Not being capable to justify the cost of purchasing a furling system for numerous thousand dollars we decided to make a furling system that would not only roll the sail but would permit us to have it partially deployed (reefed) as well. From a modest first in 1985 we manufactured one reefing, furling system for our own 45 foot Catamaran. We were immediately asked to make same systems for the sailing boats moored accessible by and so began our business of manufacturing furling systems for the sail boat industry. By manufacturing and using the system myself and with feedback from customers we have, over the years improved, modified, strengthened and changed the system to attain our commitment to make the strongest and maximum trustworthy furling system available with a warranty to match. RETURN HALYARD: The sail is hoisted to the top of the furling by means of an outer halyard that is fed from the block (pictured). This block is fabricated into the top of the furling extrusion and the halyard returns to the drum where it is tied off. The bolt ropes should extend considerable inches beyond the last of the envelope. The furling sail can have straps at the 'head' and 'tack' (as indicated) instead of the ordinary 'eye'. The UV concern is usually applied to the Starboard side of the sail. There is no need to replace your existing sail. On larger sailboats or yachts that have an innerheadstay, the sail can be rolled very quickly when tacking to permit a large Number 1 or Genoa to pass between the head stay and the innerheadstay without a crew member having to go forward to propel the sail through the opening.The larger than usual size drum means that the Reefurl roller reefing furling never requires a winch to reef or roll the sail. If the diameter of the sage is more than 14mm (916'), it will have to be cut off and replace with a 'stalk' (Long Stud) or same and is very easily fitted in a few minutes without exceptional staging equipment. NUMBER THREE: If your sage is like number three and is larger than 14mm (916') in diameter, it will have to be replaced. The length of the drum halyard should be approximately two and a half times the distance from the drum to the cockpit. Top extrusion with fabricated block and fittings.
